'Brew the love' is a social mingling event where you'll be brewing up fermented foods in the workshop kitchen.
Fermented Food Food fermentation is a time honoured food preservation method used before refrigerators. The preservation method has been dated back to fourth century BC. The technique alters the chemistry of foods producing beneficial probiotics that are linked to improvements in your health and wellbeing.
Some one-on-one time After a talk on food fermentation you'll get chopping in the kitchen. You'll have five minutes of one-on-one time with each participant to get to know one another. All participants have a chance to meet. We want you to have the opportunity to find people with common interests, so that means you'll meet everyone attending. Word on street says shown that working side by side with your hands busy takes the pressure off from the awkward meeting.
Meet and mingle For dinner we'll be brewing a hearty vegetable soup together. Brew yourself a cup of fresh herbal tea and sit by the fire pit.
Leave a note You are welcome to exchange numbers of people you want to see again. We will also have a 'letter in a paper bag' system so you can write a note and discreetly pass on a message to someone in the group. We will mail all messages to participants the following day of an event.
Take home your sauerkraut Please bring along a glass jar, around 1litre in size to take home your sauerkraut. Make sure the jar is wide enough to get your hand inside.
